Mote Marine Science Education & Outreach Center
In cooperation with Samantha Bledstein, we designed a multifaceted aquarium exhibit for the new extension of Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium located on Anna Maria Island in Manatee County, Florida. The aquarium highlights the surrounding ecosystems, including influences from the local fishing community.
I created multiple illustrations depicting native flora and fauna to decorate the walls and provide educational elements. Many are focused along the back of the aquarium. This is because the back of this building opens up with walls of windows overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Here we adhered vector illustrations to preserve the scenic view, while highlighting species that could be seen from where guests stand.
